It found that a large majority of people now support the processing of the gas at sea, a key demand of the ‘Rossport 5’, currently in prison.In the same opinion poll, support for Fianna Fail was seen to have fallen drastically. Fianna Fail support collapsesDate: 2nd August, 2005Begins:Fianna Fail’s support has collapsed in the county, according to an opinion poll carried out for the Mayo Echo. The government party’s support has more than halved since the 2002 General election, when they got 40% of the vote, and currently stands at only 16.5%. The party is at risk of losing its only seat in Mayo, and according to the poll, there will be a tight fight for the final seat between John Carty, and the now independent TD, Beverly Flynn for the final seat.
