Protest at HQ of Shell Exploitation Ireland, 52 Lwr Leeson Street Dublin 2
2PM December 2nd 2006
There will be a protest in Dublin outside the Shell Headquarters, 52 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin (corner of Adelaide Road) on Saturday December 2nd. Speakers are to be confirmed early this week. This will be an opportunity for people who have not been able to visit Erris to show their solidarity with the community there which are sadly having a dangerous polluting refinery and pipeline scheme forced on them by Shell and the Fianna Fail government. Dublin Shell to Sea will be joined by groups from around the country and other interested parties. Máire Ní Sheighin, daughter of Micheál Ó Seighin who was jailed for three months last year for refusing to give an undertaking not to protest against the Shell scheme, said: - "Many people wish to show their disapproval of the scheme, and are disturbed by recent events which have shown that the government are willing to go to extreme lengths to stamp out protest. Dublin Shell to Sea invites everyone who is interested to come to the Shell corporate headquarters for a peaceful protest on the afternoon of December 2nd."
